My 15 Favorite Things About Exercises to Improve Posture

It’s no secret that I am one of the world’s biggest enthusiasts for exercises to improve posture.

Since April 2010, I have enjoyed the fruits that come with a regular practice of exercises to improve posture. As the years have rolled by, my love and gratitude for exercises to improve posture as well as my practice of these posture exercises—specifically, my own twist on them, offered in the Posture Exercises Method—has grown immeasurably.

It’s a goal of mine to expose the world to the need for and benefits of exercises to improve posture. I also want to highlight all the many ways these powerful movements, poses and stretches target the causes of compensation, limitation, functional loss and chronic pain while helping lead clients to enjoy chronic pain relief and peak performance in all they do.

Top Things I Love About Exercises to Improve Posture

Feeling Good, Expecting to Continue Feeling Good and Making It Happen

1. At the top of my list of favorite things about exercises to improve posture is the fact that I feel so good in the present moment.

After suffering from chronic back and neck pain as well as carpal tunnel syndrome and cubital tunnel syndrome for a decade, I want to summit a mountain every day and issue a clarion call to all, proclaiming that doing exercises to improve posture is so vital to feeling good at any moment of any day.

2. Second on my list of favorite things about exercises to improve posture is my belief that, with continued practice of posture exercises, I will continue to feel good and age gracefully while enjoying the freedom to do what I love.

How many people do you know whose whole life suffers because they suffer from debilitating chronic pain? This chronic pain—from neck pain, back pain, shoulder pain, hip pain, knee pain and ankle pain to arthritis, herniated discs, sciatica, carpal tunnel syndrome, cubital tunnel syndrome and many more health conditions—can cause severe limitation and loss of functional ability in the body.

If you or a loved one is leading a life lived short of the max, you might want to consider embracing a program of exercises to improve posture such as the Posture Exercises Method.

3. Ranking third on my list of favorite things about exercises to improve posture is the thrilling truth that I actually resolved my joint misalignment and posture issues.

I’ve had moments over the years when I’ve tried to determine which is sweeter: that I feel so good in the present moment, that I expect to continue to feel good as I grow older or that I actually put an end to chronic pain.

For the masses in despair over the limitation, functional loss and chronic pain you feel, know that you can make the choice to flip the script on your present reality, pour yourself into a positive vision for your health and whole life, and take the steps to reach your goals.

4. My fourth favorite thing about posture exercises is the reality that I—not anyone else—made the magic happen in my life.

Indeed, how satisfying it has been to have taken responsibility for and taken charge of my health and put myself back together one day, one week and one month at a time.

With a Posture Exercises Method practice, you can, too!

Discover What Makes the Posture Exercises Method So Effective in Eliminating Chronic Pain

Powerful and specially designed posture exercises target all the causes of compensation, limitation, functional loss and chronic pain that might affect your body, producing symptoms from neck pain and back pain all the way to knee pain and carpal tunnel syndrome.

Exercises to Improve Posture Feel Wonderful and Natural to Do—and Help Me Play and Work

5. Exercises to improve posture feel good, natural and intuitive, making for yet another favorite thing about these exercises.

Exercises to improve posture feel congruent with the body’s original design, making them simply ring true to the body when doing them every day.

6. Exercises to improve posture make me feel better than any other exercise form.

This fact is monumental when weighing my favorite things about posture exercises.

Over the course of my lifetime, I’ve experimented with lots of different exercise forms, from weightlifting and resistance band training to yoga and competing in sports such as baseball, basketball, football, hockey and volleyball.

Posture exercises aside, I’ve injured myself engaging in some of these other exercise forms, and I can view them all as potentially dangerous.

With exercises to improve posture, however, I feel safe and whole while doing them, and they make me feel extraordinary.

7. Exercises to improve posture enable me to continue playing sports at a high level.

As someone who’s enjoyed playing sports since I was a very young child, I find immense joy in being able to continue to play sports at an extremely high level.

I love playing football the most and relish the days I get to compete with my sister’s sons, who are perennial all-star high school athletes.

Because exercises to improve posture help reposition the body’s eight load-bearing joints—the shoulders, hips, knees and ankles—and correct posture, the body is primed for competitive performance on the court, field or ice.

8. Exercises to improve posture enable me to get through long workdays in front of a computer.

I think back to the 2000–2010 decade and cringe over the chronic pain I used to feel on an everyday basis. I recall how my neck pain, back pain, carpal tunnel syndrome and cubital tunnel syndrome would flare up less than a minute after getting into my office chair, where I’d be stationed for eight grueling hours.

Since this time, I’ve been able to work longer hours in front of a computer and do it without experiencing compensation, limitation, functional loss and chronic pain. In fact, I’ve felt fantastic while working regular 60- to 80-hour weeks since 2012.

Exercises to Improve Posture Elevate Overall Health, Lifting Your Physical, Mental, Emotional and Spiritual States

9. Exercises to improve posture enable my body to sound the alarm quickly on suboptimal sitting and standing positions.

When I was a teenager, I started to fold a pillow in half horizontally and roll it under my neck so that I could watch television shows while reclining in bed. Fast forward to the tail end of my early 30s, when I began doing exercises to improve posture, and putting my body into this kind of suboptimal posture quickly became a no-no.

Let me tell you: I am grateful! I love my body’s fast-acting shouts when I am engaged physically outside my comfort zone. These cries warning me of the onset of pain keep me out of the danger zone and firmly in line with my body’s natural design.

When I see people craning their necks downward while looking at cell phones, I would bet they’d all wish they had the kind of quick alarm function like I do.

10. Exercises to improve posture enable all my body’s systems—including the digestive and respiratory systems—to work better, making me healthier.

Folks whose bodies are practically doubled over simply cannot digest food well or breathe well. If your body cannot break down foods and pull nutrients from them, you are at risk of suffering from the effects of many deficiencies. If your body cannot take a full breath, you are at risk of suffering from respiratory failure and other health conditions.

Moreover, exercises to improve posture pay dividends with other bodily systems—including the cardiovascular, immune, metabolic and nervous systems—leading to a body primed for peak health.

11. Practicing exercises to improve posture free up energy not just physically but mentally, emotionally and spiritually.

The physical part here is very easy to understand. If you’ve ever suffered from chronic pain, you know all too well just how much your thoughts can become overrun with how bad you feel and how your compensation, limitation and/or functional loss prevent you from participating in activities you need to and want to.

Additionally, you might have experience with having a short temper and snapping at people because you’re in such pain.

What if I told you that, by embracing a Posture Exercises Method practice, you can elevate yourself not just physically but mentally, emotionally and even spiritually, would you believe me?

You might have to give the Posture Exercises Method an honest run to find out yourself!

Exercises to Improve Posture Can Make You Look Better, Give You Presence and Confidence, and Make Your Days and Life Better

12. Exercises to improve posture have made me look better—a lot better.

I suffered from poor posture as an adolescent and adult through my early 30s. A growth spurt that came halfway through high school saw me shoot up about a half-foot in seemingly just a few months. This kind of major growth spurt, when not balanced out with posture-strengthening exercises, can lead to severe deviations in posture such as a rounded back and rounded neck.

At a 20-year high school reunion, a former girlfriend gushed over my straight-as-an-arrow posture. She inquired what I did to achieve this state, having remembered how I looked in high school, and I proudly divulged my secrets.

Exercises to improve posture not only helped me completely eliminate chronic pain symptoms but erased the root of all this pain: dysfunction in my shoulders, hips, knees and ankles.

13. Posture correction exercises have also given me heightened presence, one of my favorite things about exercises to improve posture.

When you feel and look better, you gain a sense of presence. This is an important quality to have and can make all the difference in life in standing out among your peers and even landing jobs.

The bottom line is, if you don’t feel good or feel good about the way you look, these negative feelings will take you away from getting the kinds of experiences you want to have in life.

14. Because I have heightened presence, thanks to doing exercises to improve posture, I experience elevated confidence.

When you bear a sense of elevated confidence and feel happy about the things you’re doing to benefit yourself and your life, this can translate to success in many areas of life, from commanding respect from strangers to attracting attention from would-be romantic partners.

Presence and confidence are distinct yet intertwined qualities.

15. Lastly, with exercises to improve posture, my day is simply better.

Every single day.

No matter what kind of storm I’m navigating through in life, I always count my posture exercises and fruitarian diet as reasons to celebrate and feel good about myself.

I very much look forward to making the time investment in my Posture Exercises Method practice day in and day out. So much so that I’ve not missed a day of practice since September 2016—and have vowed to do my exercises to improve posture every day no matter what happens.
